Belmont Batcave is an alternative clothing store and eclectic marketplace located just 15 minutes west of Charlotte, NC. With 66 independent vendors, the shop offers a constantly changing mix of gothic, Y2K, and 2000s-inspired fashion, vintage pieces, taxidermy, bones, charms, insect displays, local art, posters, prints, and other unexpected finds. From low-rise and mesh styles to nostalgic pieces that look straight out of 2003, Belmont Batcave is a destination for alternative fashion and unique finds you won’t typically see in traditional boutiques. The curated selection has an antique-store feel with a distinctly alternative point of view. The Batcave is also a gathering place for the local alternative music and creative community. Its rotating lineup of live shows features punk, hardcore, metal, deathrock, goth, and other loud and dark sounds, with both local and touring acts taking the stage. Pop-up events and other creative activities add to the shop’s evolving calendar. Beyond the retail space, a seated “third space” in the garage gives visitors a place to hang out, listen to music, read, work on creative projects, or simply spend time together.
